Our Story

<3% Indians invest

By late 2019, Indians collectively had $450Bn in savings every single year! And yet, only 2.9% of the population invested their money. So where was the rest of the money? Real estate, FDs or worse - sitting idle in bank accounts. But why?!

Thus began our journey…

We set out to answer this 'why' and 4 distinct factors emerged: Most people don't have enough time, enough knowledge or a lot of money to start investing with. Moreover, there are too many options in the market. How does one make the right investment decision?

The Monkey Experiment

A Princeton University research shows that a blindfolded monkey beats finance experts to stock picks! So we did many fun experiments to test this out - can investing be made mainstream if we make it fun & exciting? Investing so easy, monkeys can do better than you?

Spenny as we know it

A series of experiments, MVPs & customer conversations later - we gave shape to Spenny - a spare change investment platform. The easiest & the fastest way to invest. Every time you spend, we round it up to the nearest Rs.10 and invest it for you, automatically.

Y Combinator & the journey ahead

Our founders pitched to the world famous startup accelerator-investor, Y Combinator, and we were fortunate enough to get selected! From then on, it's been a journey of product & team building. It's been a journey of helping India invest - one citizen at a time.
